I specialise in working with children, adolescents, young adults, caregivers, families, educators, and professionals. My work focuses on supporting the learning, development, behaviour, social, emotional, sensory, and physical needs of children and young people. I also assess adults’ learning needs and provide support for daily living and workplace functioning.
My approach is grounded in psychological theory, research evidence, and extensive professional experience as a Psychologist, Resource Teacher: Learning and Behaviour (RTLB), and primary and intermediate teacher, alongside the experience of parenting four children.
I am registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board under the Educational Scope, a New Zealand registered teacher, and a full member of the New Zealand Psychological Society (NZPsS) and the Institute of Educational and Developmental Psychology (IEDP).
My Professional Background
My approach is person-centred and collaborative, supporting people to make sense of challenges, build on strengths, and create positive change. I aim to help each person reach their potential.
I use an integrative approach informed by assessment, clinical experience, and evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), DNA-V (ACT for Young People), Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed practice.
I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), the Cool Kids Anxiety Programme (Macquarie University), and Systemic Practice and Family Therapy. This flexible approach allows me to tailor support to each person’s individual needs, strengths, and goals.
